Suffolk’s Aldeburgh Music is to host a night dedicated to music inspired by the work of legendary composer and Aldeburgh founder Benjamin Britten in celebration of his posthumous centenary birthday.
Named Roots and taking place in conjunction with Aldeburgh Music’s Faster Than Sound series, the event will emphasise the folk past of Britten and feature a selection of world-renowned musicians including: Anna Meredith (who we recently featured at Notion), singer-songwriter Mara Carlyle, Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip) and house composer South London Ordnance amongst others.
Focuses on creative commissions and pushing emerging and ingenuitive artists, Faster Than Sound takes the original manifesto of Benjamin Britten and continuing it today.
Faster Than Light: Roots takes place 12th October at Aldeburgh Music’s Britten Studio. Further information can be found on their website.
